Project 1000 |
|
Recognizing the fact that Pangasinan is among the most at-risk provinces in the Philippines when it comes to natural disasters and climate change, we initiated the Project 1000 to be our Climate Mitigation Project. With an initial goal of 1000 mangrove trees to be planted in Alaminos City, the project grew and aimed higher. The project later in its execution phase reached out to two more towns - Mapandan and San Fabian, and to more high school students to volunteers. Through online registration and personal appearance in schools, we reached at least 100 volunteers in this project.
This project was made possible by our partners in government - the local governments of Alaminos City, Mapandan, and San Fabian, our hardworking members, our energetic volunteers, and supportive teachers and school heads from Mangaldan National High School, Alaminos City National High School, and San Fabian National High School.
